My Bio
I have always had a love for horses and art. Combining the two and being able to do what I love is a dream come true. I enjoy waking up in the morning feeling inspired, and knowing that it’s a new day where the creative possibilities are endless. Watching paintings come together and being brought to life is exciting and something that I don’t think I will ever grow tired of experiencing.
I enjoy working in acrylic, graphite (pencil), watercolor and mixed media. They are each so different and so enjoyable. Although I think my heart truly belongs to acrylics. They are a medium that has really taught me a lot. Mos of all to have patience, that “ugly stages” are just temporary and that beauty lies right around the corner.

GRAPHITE! For the last 3 years I haven't been able to do pencil, so I've been painting steadily for that time. My left hand bothers me when I hold something for too long and use pressure, which aided my fear of ever being able to do pencil work again. But, after seeing various artists on my Facebook page do such gorgeous pencil work, I knew that I had to try it no matter what the consequences. Much to my surprise, I was able to do it pain-free. And I can't stress enough just how much I've missed being able to do this medium again. It really re-ignited my passion for not only the medium but the art. It feels so good to be able to do som

New Year, new work...

It's been a while since my last journal entry. Hard to believe that it's almost been a year since my mom passed away unexpectedly. It still seems like it was just yesterday. Artwork has been keeping me busy, which is always a good thing. Takes my mind off the pain of losing someone so close to me.
I have new work coming this year...I have just been so slow at getting around to finishing the works in progress. I was working in watercolors for a while but put those away to focus on getting some new acrylic paintings in before the heat and humidity of spring/summer come in a couple months. There is a handsome paint horse fella on the ease

Unexpected change of life...

Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted here on dA. My life recently changed back in March when I lost my mom to cancer. It was very sudden and something so completely unexpected, not to mention shook me to the core. She was diagnosed and gone within 3 days. I was there with her during those 3 days and also there when she passed. It's about 3 months since she's passed and it's still so raw. I expect her to call me when I'm out feeding the horses, just to ask me what I'm doing. Or drop by after work on her way home to pick up the dinner that I fixed. Aww, thank you!! I appreciate that so much! Sorry that it's taken me so long to respond! I use to be on dA quite a bit but rarely do I get on here anymore to update anything, so it surprised me that I still have any watchers, lol. Can't blame folks for unwatching an inactive (pretty much) account. I will try to be on here a little more.
